"Voters challenged candidates vying for the Wimbledon parliamentary seat at a packed debate. Candidates from eight of the nine parties standing fielded questions from constituents about everything from the controversial Wimbledon Park expansion to Brexit.
An orderly queue of residents gathered outside Wimbledon Library on the hottest evening of the year (so far) for a chance to see how their parliamentary candidates would hold up to scrutiny. Interest in the hustings event, according to David Hall of Wimbledon Community Association (WCA), was most likely driven by the news of Stephen Hammond MP’s resignation ahead of the election on July 4."
